Several years ago, members of Shallotte Presbyterian Church asked Braddock Built Renovations to design and construct a Columbarium and Memorial Garden on the Church grounds located at 5070 M.H. Rourk Drive, Shallotte, NC 28470.
After much thoughtful consideration, a plan was drawn to create a beautiful, restful place for reflection, an asset to the Church, and a fitting memorial to departed loved ones.
The word COLUMBARIUM comes from the Latin name for a dwelling place of a dove (Columba), which Christians believe is the symbol of the Holy Spirit.
Urns containing the cremated ashes of loved ones are placed in a wall of niches to create a Columbarium. The purchase of niches, like the purchase of cemetery plots, includes the perpetual care of the Columbarium.
The Columbarium and Memorial Garden is located on the hallowed ground of Shallotte Presbyterian Church, sacred to the memory of those who have departed from our midst, providing a resting place for ashes of members, becoming a peaceful setting on teak benches for remembrance and meditation.
Special Features Include:
- Color Matched Brick (to existing Church structure)
- Granite Memorial Wall
- Granite Niche Covers
- Cast Bronze Name Plates
- Custom Design/Build
- Landscape Design
- Low-Voltage Landscape Lighting
- Continuously Flowing Fountain
